About The Position

The Court Liaison is an administrative position of the East Point Municipal Court under the direct supervision of the Chief Municipal Court Judge. The applicant will perform a wide variety of routine and complex supervisory, administrative, and clerical tasks for the court. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of court data, managing warrants, and ensuring compliance with GCIC regulations. The position also involves assisting the Clerk of Court, managing departmental budgets and expenditures, and overseeing departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be capable of being GCIC certified.
  • Must be computer literate with Excel capabilities.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience in a general office environment.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Knowledge of computer applications.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • College Degree in business management, legal or related field, administration and/or accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the import and export of data from private probation, and the processing of probation warrants.
  • Serve as a TAC officer with GCIC training, capable of maintaining the integrity of the Court’s use of the GCIC terminal.
  • Train and ensure that all required staff is GCIC certified and is capable of proper use of GCIC terminals.
  • Responsible for maintaining GCIC records and proof of up-to-date training and certification of all staff.
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal agency issues as it pertains to IT and the City of East Point’s Warrant Division.
  • Authority to clear warrants for Failure to Appear bench warrants.
  • Assist the Clerk of Court and shall serve in said capacity in the absence of the Clerk of Court.
  • Notify department personnel of procedural changes with GCIC or computer software utilized by the Department.
  • Maintain the Cash Bond Registry with H.T.E authorization.
  • Assist the Judge in preparing annual departmental operating budget.
  • Review, approve, and monitor expenditures within approved budget.
  • Review and approve payroll records under Judge’s supervision.
  • Receive, evaluate, and address complaints and problems regarding court personnel as a last resort to Judicial intervention.
  • Oversee the acquisition of materials, supplies, services, and equipment for the department.
  • Report to Chief Judge with suggestions and recommendations for change.
  • Participate in departmental staff meetings.
  • Notify shift commanders and court clerks office when errors by officers and/or staff affect the proper processing of warrants.
  • Provide problem-solving and quality assurance services.
  • Ensure distribution of all bench warrants.
  • Validate warrants when required to do so.
  • Reconcile accounts and report to Chief Judge.
  • Assist the Judge when needed.
  • Assisting the Clerk of Court in supervising and managing staff and training staff in accordance with GCIC regulations.
