COURT LIAISON - PER DIEM
About The Position
The Court Liaison performs specific duties relating to patient rights under Act 258 of the “Michigan Mental Health Code.” The position establishes civil admission procedures for individuals with mental illness, substance abuse and/or developmental disabilities. Assist the patients in signing the complete Formal Voluntary Admission Application, files specific documents with the appropriate Probate Court. Arrange treating physician/psychologist testimony, transportation to and from court, oversees court process/procedure. Attends court hearing and when necessary, testifies regarding the patient’s mental status, and/or refusal to attend court hearing.
Requirements
- High school graduate required; prefer Associates or Bachelors degree in areas of psychology, social work, mental health, and other related fields.
- Experience in dealing with the emotionally disturbed or employment in a mental health facility.
