About The Position

Metropolitan Behavioral Health is a growing 144-bed behavioral health facility that provides a full continuum of inpatient services across the entire patient population, including specialty programs to serve adolescents, adults and older adults, and perform behavioral health assessments 24-hours a day. Additionally, programs for co-occurring behavioral health and substance use issues are offered to meet the unique needs of this patient population. For more information, please visit our website: https://Metropolitanbh.com/ Position Summary The Court Liaison performs specific duties relating to patient rights under Act 258 of the “Michigan Mental Health Code.” The position establishes civil admission procedures for individuals with mental illness, substance abuse and/or developmental disabilities. Assist the patients in signing the complete Formal Voluntary Admission Application, files specific documents with the appropriate Probate Court. Arrange treating physician/psychologist testimony, transportation to and from court, oversees court process/procedure. Attends court hearing and when necessary, testifies regarding the patient’s mental status, and/or refusal to attend court hearing.

Requirements

  • High school graduate required.
  • Experience in dealing with the emotionally disturbed.

Nice To Haves

  • We prefer minimum of two years of college experience in areas of psychology, social work, mental health, and other related fields preferred or Associate or Bachelor's degree.
