About The Position

Serves as court liaison and coordinates patient court activities in collaboration with other departments. Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely involuntary commitment paperwork completion, filing, and submission to the courts. Serves as the main contact for surrounding counties when patients are placed involuntarily. Professional communication with doctors, attorneys, judges and case workers in the legal system and hospital. Coordinates Performance Improvement planning to improve court processes within the facility.

Requirements

  • Experience in a mental health setting preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in psychology or related field required.
  • Training in healthcare compliance activities, healthcare safety/risk management, hospital performance improvement activities, and hospital administration preferred.
  • Must have excellent time management and organizational skills, be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable working with professionals and patients.
  • Must work well independently and be assertive to complete tasks.
  • Demonstrated evidence of organizational skills
  • Familiarity with legal proceedings and hospital procedures preferred
  • This position primarily involves standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting to transfer patients on a daily basis.
  • This position requires using arm, leg and back muscles frequently and for extended periods of time, and additionally involves both hands and legs regularly.
  • This position requires regular work with equipment and movable parts.
  • This position requires work with hands.
  • Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
