About The Position

The Court Liaison Specialist supports a dedicated team that ensures the accurate and timely filing of legal documents in multiple court systems and other court-related matters. This is a fully remote position; however, candidates must be able to reliably commute to one of the firm’s offices on a regular basis during the first 90 days for onboarding and training, and occasional onsite presence will be required once remote. Hours: After onboarding and training, this will be a second shift position, 4pm – 12:30 a.m. local time. Occasional OT required.

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain appropriate discretion.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently in both hybrid and in-office settings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively to support consistent and efficient workflow processes.
  • Bachelor's degree or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Paralegal (CP) or similar).
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience serving as a court liaison or in a comparable role within a law firm or legal department.
  • Experience with using electronic court filing systems (e.g., PACER, CM/ECF).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, including creating, editing, and managing PDF files.
  • Proficiency with legal document management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely and accurate electronic filing of court documents, including pleadings, motions, and other legal submissions.
  • Prepare and submit filings through designated e-filing portals (e.g., LegalConnect, PACER, File & Serve).
  • Serve as an administrative liaison between the firm and court personnel, including clerks and other court staff (excluding judges).
  • Identify, interpret, and ensure compliance with all applicable court rules and procedures, including monitoring rule changes and communicating updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with attorneys, paralegals, and staff on court-related matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of all electronic filings, court appearances, and related communications.
  • Investigate, address, and resolve issues or discrepancies related to court filings and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to attorneys and staff on court procedures, e-filing protocols, and best practices.
  • Stay current on industry’s best practices and recommend enhancements to the firm’s court e-filing processes.
  • Maintain confidential information related to all matters and court activities.
