About The Position

Dauphin County Court Administration is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Court Crier/Administrator. This position serves as the Chief Courtroom Clerk Crier by supervising and performing work essential to the smooth operation of the courtroom in a variety of functions; and assisting the Judge with essential, confidential office functions. This position handles confidential documents, correspondence, and messages for the Judge; enters data into the courtroom computer system; swears in witnesses and jurors; observes participants’ and galleries’ adherence to courtroom protocol and decorum; supervises tipstaffs during jury trials; distributes court records as prescribed; ensures courtroom is stocked with necessary supplies and that equipment is in working order; acts as messenger for the Judge; obtains and returns resource materials required by the Judge during trial; delivers orders, transcripts and memoranda to related offices; responsible for security in Judge’s chambers; provides communication, sometimes confidential, from the Judge to Court Administrators, Attorneys, Tipstaffs and Sheriffs.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or an accredited equivalency program
  • Computer skills and experience required
  • A favorable criminal background check is required
