About The Position

Under general supervision, performs complex administrative, budgetary, financial, and employee outreach tasks through administrative coordination in support of court operations, to include a vital role in staff training, skill development and continuous learning. Performs other duties as assigned. As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Requirements

  • An Associate degree from an accredited college or university with courses in accounting and a major in education, business, public administration, government, political science or a related field and from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education
  • two (2) years progressively responsible experience in a court setting or progressively responsible professional experience conducting training and education
  • three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting or bookkeeping work experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License and the ability to be covered by county insurance.
  • Considerable knowledge of: Adult learning, training principles and practices; Analysis and evaluation of training program data, in various formats, to evaluate the completeness and effectiveness of training programs; Interacting with other professional staff, governmental officials, reflecting the Judicial Code of Conduct core values; Court operations and basic legal terminology; Applicable accounting operating policies, procedures, principles, and practices; Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Considerable Skill in: Customer service, tact and diplomacy; Effective verbal and written communication; Obtaining, verifying, and evaluating general and statistical information; Making independent decisions and recommendations; Time management, with a proven ability to meet deadlines; Microsoft Suite and learning other computer software systems; Public speaking and training; Providing reports and analyses regarding project objective; Producing documents that are well organized using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar; Performing and verifying mathematical computations quickly and accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex clerical and administrative tasks in support of court staff, judges, and the public.
  • Maintain accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing card payments, vendor management and other financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Assist with gathering and organizing budgetary and financial data to support the Judicial Budget and Finance Director.
  • Serve a key role in maintaining workflow integrity and compliance with Judicial administrative and financial policies, to include Minimum Accounting Standards and ensure consistent service delivery for the court.
  • Under direction of Court Administration, coordinate the development, delivery and maintenance of training programs and educational activities.
  • Research, coordinate, and develop materials for use in training and educating staff on procedures, rules, regulations, forms, requirements and equipment for area of assignment.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of training initiatives, to include administrative support and coordination of logistical arrangements.
  • Collect, compile, prepare, update and assemble training and presentation materials and manuals.
  • Design and/or update new training and education materials on a regular basis.
  • Conduct initial training/orientation for newly hired staff to increase understanding of the judiciary system.
  • Deliver training to classes and individuals through lectures, demonstrations, exercises and COJET Conferences.
  • Maintain the Limited Jurisdiction Bond Book with current fines and fees.
  • Conduct continuing education to comply with changes in federal, state and local regulations, policies and procedures, and to resolve specific performance deficiencies.
  • Monitor changes in statutes, rules, best practices, and procedures, and incorporate into trainings.
  • Maintain manual and computer-based documentation on training and/or education conducted.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, evaluations, and training materials.
  • Serve as Fleet Liaison.
  • Arrange and assist with travel accommodations for staff.
