Course Grader - Geoscience (Open to Work Study and Non-Work Study)
About The Position
OnRamps prepares students and teachers for success in the classroom and beyond. We build partnerships across K12 and higher education to raise the bar on dynamic experiences that advance student success while lowering barriers to access and opportunity. The Geoscience Course Grader supports the OnRamps Geoscience Earth, Wind, and Fire course (GEO 302E). The Course Grader works in close collaboration with the Geoscience Course Manager and the Geoscience grader mentor to assist with timely and accurate grading student assessments, provides feedback for assessments in Canvas and attends calibrations and training to align with Course requirements. The Course Support employee also provides just-in-time assistance with seasonal and urgent projects.
Requirements
- Current undergraduate or graduate student at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Geoscience or closely related major with at least 2 semesters of Geoscience courses.
- Intermediate computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with Canvas LMS.
- Recommendation from at least one professional or academic reference
- Punctual, reliable, responsible, Self-motivated
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Nice To Haves
- Interest in and knowledge of local, state, and national dual-enrollment and college-readiness initiatives
- Expert computer skills: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience with Learning Catalytics, MS Outlook, and/or Smartsheet
- Recommendation from more than one professional or academic reference
Responsibilities
- Maintains accuracy and consistency while grading course assignments and assessments in Canvas Learning Management System.
- Provides feedback on course assignments and assessments in Canvas Learning Management System.
- Attends calibration meetings and participate in training to align feedback and deepen transferrable skills.
- Assists with seasonal and urgent projects that align to the OnRamps mission.
