About The Position

OnRamps prepares students and teachers for success in the classroom and beyond. We build partnerships across K12 and higher education to raise the bar on dynamic experiences that advance student success while lowering barriers to access and opportunity. The OnRamps Course Graders support course management in the OnRamps Economics course through grading of student assessments. They also provide just-in-time assistance with seasonal and urgent projects.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Economics or related field.
  • Must have successfully completed a microeconomics introductory course.
  • Intermediate computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and Equation Editor.
  • Experience with Canvas LMS.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Current junior undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin majoring in Economics with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
  • Interest in and knowledge of local, state, and national dual-enrollment and college-readiness initiatives.
  • Expert computer skills: MS Word, Excel, and Equation editor.
  • Experience with Smartsheet.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accuracy and consistency while grading, as well as when providing feedback, on course assessments in Canvas Learning Management System
  • Tracking engagement and progress of high school assessments.
  • Attends calibration meetings with the OnRamps staff, IOR, or Mentor Graders.
  • Participates in course prototyping, user testing, continuous improvement, and assists in urgent and seasonal projects.
