About The Position

Performs a variety of administrative duties related to the Legal Specialization and Education (LSE) Department's programs. Reviews, evaluates, and assigns credit to courses/programs. Advises bar members on delinquency and reinstatement rules and procedures. Corresponds with CLE providers concerning the accreditation process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (proof of degree required at interview).
  • One (1) year administrative experience is highly preferred.
  • Administrative experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, evaluates, and assigns continuing legal education credit to programs and other educational activities, ensuring the activity has met the guidelines and is an academic experience having significant intellectual or practical content designed to increase or maintain the attorney's professional competence as a lawyer, constituting an organized program of learning dealing with matters directly related to the required subject matter, and have high quality written prepared materials for the attendees.
  • Communicates information concerning accreditation rules, policies, forms and procedures.
  • Coordinates administration of the Continuing Legal Education Requirements (CLER) and the Basic Skills Course Requirements (BSCR), including member notification of delinquencies and reinstatement rules and processes for noncompliance.
  • Communicates information concerning membership options and program rules and policies.
  • Verifies and processes CLER reporting affidavits, BSCR deferrals, and extension requests.
  • Advises IT department regarding programming needs and system changes; enters computer data of credit hour assignments and member compliance with CLER and BSCR programs; participates in phone queue when needed; other duties as assigned.
