A Day in the Life As a Full-Time Laboratory Assistant or Technician I / Courier based in our Orange, CA Laboratory , you’ll step into the lab where every detail matters. You'll play a key role in prepping and handling samples, keeping records accurate, and maintaining a clean laboratory to support on-time results everyday. This position will also include providing courier services to support our Anaheim location. You’ll collaborate with a strong team of committed professionals, contribute to meaningful scientific work, and grow your expertise in a dynamic, quality-driven environment.The ideal candidate will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e.g. pathogens or chemicals). They will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward. The position title and compensation range for this role is, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. Laboratory Assistant $17.00 - $20.00 / hr -OR- Laboratory Technician I $18.00 - $23.00 / hr , DOE. Department: Sample Receiving Schedule: 2nd Shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm); Monday - Friday -OR- Sunday - Thursday

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must be able to move and carry up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for the duration of shift while performing frequent routine tasks
• Must have a driving record that meets the company's requirements for operating company vehicles.

Nice To Haves

• Some lab experience is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
• Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
• Able to work independently and make sound decisions
• Well organized and have an attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Drives the company vehicle to transport supplies, samples, and/or waste between Onterris Orange and Anaheim locations for processing
• Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to SOPs
• Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
• Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
• Assists in sample bottle preparation
• Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal
• Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed
• Assists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if needed
• Maintains the company vehicle in optimal condition
• Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
• Comply with Company’s Quality Assurance Program
• Comply with Company’s Health and Safety Plan
• Other duties as assigned
