About The Position

The County of Washington Behavioral Health & Developmental Services Department is seeking applicants for the position of Intellectual Disabilities Program Specialist 1. This role involves the review, analysis, evaluation, monitoring, and coordination of community intellectual disability programs. The position focuses on administrative work for Intellectual Disabilities (ID) programs’ Waiver processes, including the review, analysis, evaluation, monitoring, and coordination of program and confidential participant information.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in the field of intellectual disabilities, and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the oversight of service delivery to ensure accurate and effective implementation of the rules, regulations, program policies and objectives.
  • Guide providers in program planning, development, implementation, and coordination; assist Supports Coordinators in ensuring accurate content and program compliance.
  • Monitor and coordinate data collection, tracking, and maintenance; ensure all materials are complete for individuals participating in the waiver system including all admissions, transfers and discharges, and Reserved Capacity Service.
  • Determine individual eligibility (initial and on-going); coordinate the waiver funding waiting list based off the Prioritization of Urgency of Need for Services (PUNS) and assigned Waiver Capacity; coordinate the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) process for individuals in skilled nursing facilities.
  • Review and authorize ISP submitted materials and information required in our secure data system.
