About The Position

The County Caseworker 1 with the Lycoming-Clinton County MH/ID Unit supports individuals and families working toward stable housing and stronger daily living. The role involves regular contact with community partners to help create lasting housing success. This is a full-time, onsite position scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework is not available.

Requirements

• Meet one of the stated experience and education pathways: two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 plus two years of college-level coursework, including 12 credits in specified or related social sciences; a bachelor's degree that includes or is supplemented by 12 credits in specified or related social sciences; or an equivalent combination that includes 12 such credits and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar paraprofessional case management position.
• Be able to perform the essential job functions.
• Submit criminal history reports at the applicant's expense following a conditional offer.
• Complete a drug screening following a conditional offer.
• Applicants claiming education in supplemental application answers must attach college transcripts; unofficial transcripts are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate referrals by gathering information and meeting with consumers and referral sources.
• Conduct initial assessments to understand individuals’ housing and support needs.
• Develop flexible housing plans addressing system navigation, emergency housing, rental assistance, and related needs.
• Participate in case reviews and help resolve issues through a team-based approach.
• Provide guidance to case managers and ongoing support to consumers transitioning to independent living.
• Offer budgeting and financial skills training to consumers receiving services.
