About The Position

Step into a meaningful role as a County Caseworker 1 with the Department of Human Services. Fayette County Behavioral Health Administration invites you to help families access vital early intervention resources. This position gives you the chance to support children and bring hope to their caregivers. Join a team driven by compassion and commitment. This position focuses on supporting young children who may be experiencing developmental delays by guiding families through screening and service coordination. The work centers on strengthening early development through collaborative planning with caregivers.

Requirements

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions.
• Possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
• Able to perform essential job functions.
• Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within two months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental screenings for children from birth to three years of age
• Track service needs and coordinate appropriate early intervention supports
• Work closely with families and guardians to identify goals and resources
• Help families locate and obtain necessary services for developmental growth
• Monitor developmental progress and adjust service plans as needed
