County Caseworker 1 at Fayette County MH/ID gives you the chance to support very young children as they grow and learn. Requirements

• Two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
• A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions
• Possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension
• Must be able to perform essential job functions
• Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental screenings and track progress for children birth to three
• Work with families and guardians to identify needs and plan for support
• Locate and arrange Early Intervention services that match each child’s developmental needs
• Assist families in accessing community programs that encourage growth and independence
• Promote agency values by encouraging hope and supporting recovery within each family
