As a Country Therapeutic Area Leader (cTAL), you will play a pivotal role in driving local leadership, shaping country-level strategy, and delivering our therapeutic area objectives. You will lead high-performing teams, foster innovation, and translate global priorities into impactful local delivery plans that accelerate our clinical trials and expand pipeline opportunities for patients. In this strategic role, you will be the vital bridge connecting internal global networks and key external clinical partners. You will build and maintain crucial relationships across healthcare systems, investigator networks, and patient advocacy groups while ensuring operational excellence across all clinical studies in your therapeutic area. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with extensive, hands-on knowledge of product development, clinical trial execution, and global clinical regulations/guidelines.
  • A degree (MD, PhD, MA/MS, or BA/BS) in life sciences or an equivalent quantitative/scientific discipline.
  • Exceptional strategic planning skills, with the ability to analyse complex data, exercise sound judgment under situational constraints, and formulate long-term delivery plans.
  • Proven leadership capability to inspire and motivate diverse teams, foster cross-functional collaboration, and delegate decision-making with clear boundaries and expectations.
  • Strong customer-centric focus with demonstrated ability to build sustainable, trust-based relationships across global matrix teams and external patient/clinical networks.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with proven agility in managing multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for developing, executing, and monitoring the country therapeutic area (TA) strategy in strict alignment with global priorities and local operational plans.
  • Ensure the successful country-level delivery of all clinical studies within your assigned TA, working closely with Clinical Research Engagement Leaders and CRO partners to achieve timelines and quality standards.
  • Perform comprehensive country landscaping activities for new and existing therapeutic areas to assess competitive environments, identify trial opportunities, and support pipeline growth.
  • Build and nurture strong, sustainable relationships with external clinical sites, investigator networks, hospital networks, collaborative research groups, and Patient Advocacy Groups.
  • Proactively collaborate with regional TA leaders, global asset teams, and local Medical Affairs to resolve complex challenges and streamline study execution.
  • Champion a culture of inclusion, high performance, and continuous development by coaching, mentoring, and managing local team members and future leaders.
  • Partner with operational analytics and clinical excellence leaders to design, develop, and implement innovative solutions that enhance trial efficiency and operational effectiveness.
