About The Position

The Counter-Sorter handles, counts, sorts, and records incoming soiled textiles from customers. The role identifies damaged or abused textiles and prepares and transfers textiles to other departments. The position reports to the Production Manager and works as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Soiled textiles may come from restaurants, hotels, medical facilities, and shops.

Requirements

• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position for the entire shift.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, reach overhead, push and pull carts or bins, grasp and handle textiles, lift up to 50 pounds, and stoop or bend.
• Successful completion of drug screening is required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Open bags of soiled textiles and sort textiles by type, size, and color.
• Count textiles manually or electronically and transfer them into sorting systems.
• Identify damaged or abused textiles and record them in sorting systems.
• Comply with Spindle Job Classification efficiency and safety standards for the position.
• Follow policies and procedures for wearing assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Support production flow and perform different tasks within the team based on daily operational needs.
• Work in a team environment.
