About The Position

The Counter Salesclerk is responsible for all aspects of the front counter sales and customer service within retail stores. This role involves greeting customers, assisting with product inquiries, processing transactions, providing estimates, managing inventory, promoting deals, maintaining the sales floor, resolving customer issues, collaborating with internal teams, coordinating deliveries, and adhering to safety and environmental protocols.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of related experience and/or training.
  • Creativity and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive internal and external customer support experience.
  • Good leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Able to work alone or as a team.
  • Customer and Team-Oriented attitude.
  • Ability to multitask while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
  • Driven and ambitious individual with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Construction related work experience.
  • Knowledge of hardscapes.
  • High School education required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as an Inventory clerk or a similar role.
  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers, offering knowledgeable advice on products.
  • Process customer orders, invoicing, and payments.
  • Provide product estimates and quotes.
  • Stay informed about store inventory and suggest complementary products.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory levels by restocking shelves and checking for shortages.
  • Inform customers about special deals and encourage additional purchases.
  • Ensure the sales floor and product displays are organized, clean, and visually appealing.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints, returns, or exchanges.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, and management teams.
  • Coordinate product deliveries from the plant to the customer's location.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols related to handling building materials and operating equipment.
  • Comply with safety rules and report any safety issues.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adhere to environmental regulations and clean up excess materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Fill in for colleagues and subordinates as needed.
  • Volunteer and participate in company events.
