About The Position

The Counter Sales Representative will act as a Sales Representative for the retail store by selling products to businesses and industrial customers. This role involves proactively selling industrial gasses, welding supplies, and related equipment to both existing and potential customers. The representative will handle all sales-related paperwork, including documenting sales, quotes, and pertinent customer details. They will provide insightful answers to customer inquiries and offer expert guidance on suitable equipment and procedures. Additionally, the role includes maintaining a neat and orderly showroom, assisting customers with merchandise, and facilitating the loading and unloading of cylinders. Cultivating and nurturing positive customer relations, communicating effectively in-person and over the phone regarding costs, ordering, and delivery schedules, and monitoring customer needs to collaboratively manage hardgoods and cylinder levels to reduce emergency deliveries are key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in customer service or sales.
  • Basic computer skills, along with familiarity in order entry systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Analytical thinking to assess customer situations and provide effective solutions.
  • Skillful handling of cash transactions.
  • Physical strength to handle loads up to 60 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Positive team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities and backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with compressed gases and related products is advantageous.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
