About The Position

We are looking for talented individuals to join our NAPA family as Counter Sales Associates. As a NAPA Counter Sales Associate, you are the "face of the retail store" and the go-to person for customers entering our retail stores for all their automotive needs. While extensive mechanical knowledge isn't required, a background and understanding of automotive parts is necessary. This role is a great opportunity for those looking to build a career as a Parts Specialist, seeking full/part-time employment, or aiming to gain entry into the company to explore other career paths within NAPA. We welcome all interested candidates.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's License
• Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry or a willingness to learn all things auto parts.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced retail environments.
• Great listening skills and empathy for customers.

Nice To Haves

• Technical or Trade school courses or degree.
• Background and/or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.
• Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision.
• Knowledge of cataloging AND/OR inventory management systems.
• Entirely customer-centric (external/internal).
• ASE Certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter and over the phone.
• Utilize parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions.
• Deliver outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who enters the NAPA Store.
• Bring customer focus and high energy to fast-paced stores.
• Welcome retail customers and engage them to provide a positive consumer experience.
• Utilize technology including computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems.
