About The Position

The Counter Sales Representative – Comm Res Product Division is a key member of our Sales Team, responsible for supporting contractors, builders, and homeowners by providing expert guidance on product selection, pricing, and order coordination. This position collaborates closely with Inside and Outside Sales teams and Yard Operations to deliver seamless, professional customer experience from initial inquiry through final delivery. Founded in 1893, Rio Grande Co. has proudly served the Denver and Rocky Mountain region for over 132 years. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in sales or customer service, preferably in the building materials or construction industry.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic sales software; experience with ERP systems a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong team orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of masonry, stone, stucco, rebar, and other building materials is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist walk-in customers, phone callers, and email inquiries with product information, pricing, availability, and application.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of product lines, including masonry, stone, stucco, rebar, and other building materials.
  • Maintain showroom displays, samples, and marketing materials in a clean, organized, and up-to-date manner.
  • Build long-term customer relationships through reliable communication and exceptional follow-through.
  • All other duties assigned.
