About The Position

Van Marcke Trade Supply is hiring a Counter Sales Specialist for its Northwest Las Vegas location. The role provides customer service in a retail counter-sales environment, helping customers with questions and locating merchandise. It also supports merchandise receiving, stocking, pricing, checkout, store presentation, and cleanliness. The position requires following company standards, policies, and procedures, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws. The stated pay range is $17.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.

Requirements

• High school degree.
• Previous experience in a retail environment, in sales or merchandising roles.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekday and weekend shifts, to meet business needs.
• Ability to travel to other store locations if needed.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and frequently lift 50 pounds to load and unload customer orders.
• Perform essential job duties in adherence to company standards, policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Some college.
• Product knowledge of hardware-related and/or plumbing products, along with a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly customer service according to Van Marcke standards, answer customer questions, and help customers locate merchandise.
• Assist with receiving, stocking, and pricing merchandise.
• Perform duties in the store point-of-sale checkout environment.
• Monitor the unloading of materials, ensure materials are staged for counting and inspection, and ensure receiving reports accurately account for materials received.
• Store materials properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
• Resolve discrepancies with accounting involving invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
• Maintain appropriate merchandise stock levels, placement, presentation, signage, and assortment across departments, and ensure the selling floor is adequately stocked.
• Help ensure compliance with company policies and procedures through staff meetings, store walk-throughs, audits, and other activities.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including taking out trash, dusting and mopping floors, cleaning the restroom and associate room, and cleaning the stockroom.
• Perform other store duties as trained and directed by the store manager or upper management.
