About The Position

The Gustave A. Larson Company is seeking a Counter Sales Representative/Warehouse Attendant to join their team. This role is crucial for an HVAC/R wholesale distributor serving the Midwest and Great Plains area. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Counter Sales Representative or customer service experience, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, creative, customer-focused professional.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and provides accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Individual must be flexible with changes in work schedule.
  • Must be skilled in verbal and written communication and have sufficient education to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must have basic math skills and able to perform or learn the requirements of the job within the assigned learning period.
  • Required to accept and follow all safety rules and policies, including the use of all mandated safety protective equipment.
  • Individual must agree to take pre-employment drug test and background check and comply with all Company policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum 2 years of HVACR field experience, and/or degree/certification in HVACR is strongly preferred.
  • Combination of education and related experience will also be considered.
  • Willing to work overtime and be on-call occasionally on weekends (this is an additional pay opportunity).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver on promises at the counter by being present and in person with customers.
  • Manage and fulfill online orders quickly.
  • Assist in selling the right equipment and recommending the right systems by understanding HVAC residential systems.
  • Learn and continually improve sales skills and product knowledge.
  • Provide customer service expertise and support for pricing, quoting, credit terms, and orders.
  • Process sales, credit transactions, and warranty paperwork.
  • Know the store, stock it, and help keep it clean.
  • Assist in daily warehouse duties, including operating forklifts (sit down, reach trucks, order pickers, etc.).
  • Pull product for Will Calls.
  • Organize truck loads to their proper locations when trucks are received.
  • Use RF scanning technology for locating/picking product.
  • Stock small parts as needed.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with warehouse, counter sales, and inside sales teams.
  • Operate and react quickly to customer needs.
  • Learn and understand how the business operates, including warehouse, counter, product knowledge, and quoting.
