About The Position

Airgas is hiring a Counter Sales Representative in Dodge Center, MN. This role involves partnering with customers to provide industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and other essential supplies. The Counter Sales Associate will act as a trusted guide, advising customers on necessary tools, hardware, and materials for their projects. They will also demonstrate equipment use and share insights on product quality to help customers pioneer new solutions. The position champions company policies, including safety and the use of personal protective equipment, and provides excellent customer service to foster long-term relationships. Responsibilities include accurate completion of essential documentation, collaborating with customers on effective solutions, processing transactions, and coordinating with customers and team members via phone, email, and in person. The role also involves contributing to an outgoing call strategy, coordinating merchandise transfers, nurturing a positive work atmosphere, stocking shelves, maintaining showroom displays, and collaborating on cylinder movement and pallet organization.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license to drive a company vehicle
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous product, warehouse and/or sales related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google and/or MS Office Applications.
  • Requires frequent use of computer and telephones and occasional use of a forklift, pallet jack or other material handling equipment.
  • Employee will frequently be required to position self to stock inventory and handle cylinders.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to routinely move up to 60 pounds and move more than 60 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all essential documentation is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.
  • Partners with customers to identify the most effective and appropriate solutions and procedures for their specific tasks; demonstrates equipment use to build customer confidence
  • Collaborates on order entry and processes transactions; supports the team with the smooth reconciliation of deposits.
  • Coordinates via phone, e-mail, and in person with customers and team members to provide helpful information on costs and delivery.
  • Contributes to an outgoing call strategy to support the continued growth and collective success of the branch.
  • Coordinates the transfer of merchandise between locations to meet customer needs.
  • Nurtures a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a supportive and collaborative manner with customers, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Stocks shelves and maintains welcoming showroom displays to provide an excellent, inviting customer experience.
  • Collaborates on cylinder movement and pallet organization.
