About The Position

QC Supply is seeking a Full-Time Counter Sales/Parts Associate for their Ames, IA location. This role is responsible for providing excellent customer service and sales support, managing walk-in customers in the showroom, and assisting with picking, packing, and shipping orders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery. The position involves engaging with customers both in-store and over the phone, managing products from arrival to final billing, and ensuring smooth branch operations. The ideal candidate will have strong computer, organizational, and communication skills, with a high attention to detail. No college degree is required, and training will be provided for the right person.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Ability to read and understand English.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced customer driven environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Sales and customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours a week with occasional overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting walk-in customers in the showroom.
  • Providing customer service and sales support in-person and over the phone.
  • Picking, packing, and shipping orders accurately and on time.
  • Managing products from arrival at the facility to final billing.
  • Utilizing inventory management systems for verification and data entry.
  • Recommending appropriate parts and equipment to customers.
  • Educating customers on new products and promotions.
  • Operating office equipment and handling payment transactions.
  • Utilizing computer operating systems efficiently.
  • Assisting with inventory management, including shelving products and performing cycle counts.
  • Maintaining inventory levels to ensure adequate stock.
  • Coordinating with the warehouse to account for all materials entering or leaving.
  • Maintaining a neat and clean parts counter and showroom.
  • Performing daily tasks as assigned.
