About The Position

We are seeking a Customer Service Representative / Counter Sales professional to join our team at our Sulphur, Louisiana branch. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering knowledgeable, solution-oriented service. The CSR / Counter Sales person is often the first point of contact and plays a critical role in driving customer satisfaction and branch success.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous customer service, counter sales, or inside sales experience preferred
  • Experience with hydraulic, industrial, or mechanical products is a strong plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable using computers and basic business software
  • Willingness to learn products, systems, and industry applications
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and customer-focused
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work well with others and contribute to a positive team culture

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hydraulic, industrial, or mechanical products is a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Greet walk-in customers and handle counter sales transactions
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, in person and by phone
  • Process payments, invoices, and basic sales documentation
  • Assist customers with product selection and provide technical or application guidance as needed
  • Develop strong product knowledge to support sales and identify upselling opportunities
  • Follow up on orders to ensure timely fulfillment and prevent delays
  • Update inventory and order information using the computer system
  • Investigate order discrepancies or errors and help resolve issues promptly
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe counter and customer-facing area
  • Support general warehouse or branch operations during slower periods as needed
  • Ensure every customer leaves with a positive experience
