About The Position

The Counter Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for sales and customer service at Noble Gas Solutions, LLC retail locations. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. The role is responsible for supporting customers, processing transactions, maintaining product knowledge, and ensuring a clean and organized retail environment.

Requirements

  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills, with proven sales experience preferably in industrial gases, logistics, or distribution.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and a variety of duties.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Problem solves within delegated authority.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license – required
  • Ability to operate a liftgate

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in welding, manufacturing, and/or parts procurement, preferred.
  • Experience with ERP software (TIMS or CRM) and Salesforce

Responsibilities

  • Assist walk-in and call-in customers by identifying product needs, locating merchandise, and providing exceptional service.
  • Accurately complete required paperwork and documentation, including sales orders, quotes, and related records.
  • Enter sales and quote information into TIMS and utilize computer systems for product research and customer support.
  • Process payments for products and services and ensure accuracy in all cash-handling procedures.
  • Maintain responsibility for all payments received while following company accounting and administrative policies.
  • Package purchases and assist customers with loading merchandise into their vehicles.
  • Support warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory, labeling, and general organization.
  • Restock and maintain merchandise displays, ensuring products are properly arranged, ticketed, and inventoried.
  • Manage working cylinder stock, including generating transfers from the Filling Plant and other branch locations.
  • Follow all company safety standards, especially regarding cylinder handling, exchanges, and storage.
  • Maintain up-to-date product pricing and literature and ensure personal product knowledge remains current.
  • Keep the showroom and facility clean, organized, and customer-ready at all times.
  • Perform other duties and tasks assigned by leadership.
