About The Position

Endries International, Inc. is a leading distributor of fasteners and provider of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) solutions for original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) worldwide and we are seeking a Counter Sales Associate to join our team in Opelika, Alabama. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Understanding of professional sales procedures and customer service.
  • Knowledge of cash register functions and processing payments.
  • Knowledge of assembly procedures.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good communication abilities.
  • Organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to closely follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic math abilities.
  • Able to operate Company computer systems and are proficient with Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word software applications.

  • Previous sales and assembly experience helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Stocks shelves, counters, racks, and tables with merchandise.
  • Organizes and rearranges merchandise as necessary.
  • Returns misplaced items to correct locations.
  • Ensures the neat and orderly appearance of sales displays.
  • Checks inventory accuracy.
  • Marks and tags merchandise with pricing, size, and product specifications.
  • Assists with the presentation of displays, promotional presentations, and sales programs as assigned.
  • Works to prevent damage and theft of merchandise, and preserves materials in saleable condition.
  • Ensures that merchandise is stored, handled, and displayed in accordance with established Company policies and procedures.
  • Provides product information including price, location, and use of merchandise.
  • Records requests for merchandise, orders products, and notifies customers promptly.
  • Operates the cash register and prepares customer receipts efficiently.
  • Totals price, tax, and shipping and handling charges accurately.
  • Balances the cash register at the end of each shift or as scheduled.
  • Processes credit cards, checks, vouchers, gift certificates, cash payments, and discounts properly.
  • Follows established policies and procedures for verifying payment and ensuring accuracy.
  • Follows store policies for merchandise returns.
  • Records and restocks products.
