About The Position

Boyd Gaming Corporation is a premier casino entertainment company in the United States. The Count Team Member acts as a laborer on the Bill Validator Drop, responsible for the collection process of accurately staging and replacing full drop devices with empty devices. They also work in the Count Room, emptying the contents of gaming devices, counting, and recording them. This role involves performing basic mathematical calculations, utilizing a ten-key calculator, and using Excel and Casino System programs to balance the room, transfer funds, and prepare documentation. Team Members are required to become certified to safely maneuver a hand-operated "Tow-Cart" to move BV carts across the casino floor. The role demands safeguarding company assets, maintaining awareness of operational changes or problems, and reporting them to leadership. A significant part of the job involves maintaining control of and protecting large amounts of currency, chips, tickets, and coupons, ensuring prevention of loss through care and attention to detail. Integrity is paramount, requiring adherence to all MICS (Minimum Internal Controls Standards), ICS (Ameristar Internal Control Standards), Count Team SOPs, and Ameristar Policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent and/or experience to satisfy all elements of this position.
  • Possession of, and ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers and gaming license within assigned state of employment and other jurisdictions
  • Must successfully pass background check
  • Must successfully pass an alcohol and drug screening
  • Must be 21 years of age

  • 6 months or more in Count and/or Casino industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a laborer on the Bill Validator Drop, staging and replacing full drop devices with empty devices.
  • Acts as a laborer in the Count Room emptying the contents of gaming devices, counting, and recording them.
  • Sort and generate paperwork as related to each count process.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Utilize ten-key calculator.
  • Use Excel and Casino System programs to balance the room, transfer funds to the Cage Department, and prepare documentation.
  • Become certified to safely maneuver a hand-operated “Tow-Cart” to move BV carts across the casino floor.
  • Responsible for safeguarding company assets.
  • Maintain awareness of changes and/or problems which may adversely affect the operations and report them to leadership.
  • Maintaining control of and protecting large amounts of currency, chips, tickets, and coupons.
  • Ensuring prevention of loss by providing care and attention to detail throughout all processes.
  • Ensuring Integrity through adherence to all MICS, ICS, Count Team SOPs and Ameristar Policies and procedures.
