About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of gaming laws, company policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity of all count transactions. The role involves assisting with various drops, counting money, reconciling revenue, and preparing detailed reports. The Cashier will input daily information into specific programs, handle the verification and transfer of slot drops and concession funds, and operate and maintain equipment in the Count Rooms. This role requires accountability for the accuracy of departmental records and reports, and consistent attendance.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to work odd hours, which include weekends, holidays and evening hours.
  • High School diploma or its equivalency required.
  • Effective communication skills required.
  • Must be extremely numbers-oriented and computer-literate.
  • Knowledge of computers and calculators.
  • Shall have mechanical skills to operate various kinds of equipment.
  • Previous money handling experience required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret basic instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.
  • Must be able to withstand a background check.
  • Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
  • No person shall be eligible for employment at Menominee Casino Resort/Thunderbird complex if they have been convicted, or have a pending unresolved charge of: Any crime which would require compliance with the reporting requirements for sex offenders pursuant to Menominee or Wisconsin law; or A felony conviction of any kind in the immediately preceding two years; A crime of any kind related to gambling in the immediately preceding two years; A crime of any kind related to theft, fraud, or misrepresentation in the immediately preceding two years; A crime of any kind related to a crime of violence, or involving domestic violence, or a drug offense involving sale of drugs, or possession with intent to sell drugs, during the immediately preceding two years.
  • In addition to the minimum criminal background requirements listed above, employee must meet the minimum criminal background requirements necessary to obtain a gaming license as stated in Menominee Tribal Code Chapter 347 and the Tribal Gaming Compact.
  • Hiring in a Gaming Position is contingent upon a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a thorough, working knowledge of laws, rules and regulations of the Gaming Commission, as well as company policies, procedures and controls.
  • Ensures the integrity of all count transactions at Casino and Thunderbird Club.
  • Assists in table games, slot, concession drops, counting money, and reconciling revenue.
  • Prepares various reports, including stiff sheets, transfer sheets, audit fills and credit slips; reconciles all totals and forwards all information to appropriate individual(s).
  • Maintains all records, reports and other required paperwork in the Count Department.
  • Inputs daily information into the CMP and SDS Programs.
  • Handles the slot drop pick-ups, verification and transferring the slot drop to the vault.
  • Handles the pick-ups, verification and transfer of various Concessions to the vault.
  • Operates the equipment in the Count Rooms, and performs minor repairs and maintenance, as needed.
  • Facilitates the flow of information, by attending regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
