About The Position

The Count Room Clerk is responsible for collecting, counting, and bundling vouchers and currency from gaming machines and bill acceptors. This role involves filling orders for booth fills, transporting them to cage locations, and obtaining proper signatures. The clerk also collects bulk coin transfers from slot booths and cashiers. Additionally, the position requires performing machine operator duties such as accumulating, counting, verifying, and strapping currency, as well as sealing it. The role utilizes Glory machines for weighing and wrapping processes. The Count Room Clerk must adhere to all company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations, attend meetings and training, and provide excellent customer and employee relations. A neat and clean appearance is expected at all times. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a high school or equivalent diploma.
  • Ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the New York State Lottery regulations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and inference.
  • Ability to create, read and analyze spreadsheets of statistical data.
  • Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Moderate physical ability such as lift or maneuver at least twenty-five (25) pounds.
  • Varied instances of standing/walking.

Nice To Haves

  • Six (6) months experience through on-the-job training preferred.
  • Second language a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, count, and bundle vouchers and currency from gaming machines and bill acceptors.
  • Fill orders for booth fills and transport them to cage locations.

  • Collect all bulk coin transfers from slot booths and cashiers.
  • Accumulate currency to be counted and sorted by denomination.
  • Enter currency into the machine for count verification.
  • Strap counted currency.
  • Seal all currency in plastic.
  • Perform Weigh and Wrap process using Glory machines.
  • Comply with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls, and government regulations.
  • Attend periodic meetings and training sessions.
  • Demonstrate and provide outstanding customer and employee relations at all times.
  • Present oneself in a neat and clean appearance at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
