About The Position

The Center for Health and Wellness is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our inclusive, collaborative, and integrated team. Requirements

  • Clinical experience in assessment, treatment planning, shared decision-making, and crisis response
  • Commitment to multicultural approaches to clinical care
  • Commitment to addressing intersections of multiple identities and their related health outcomes
  • Commitment to collaboration with clinical and administrative staff to support student success
  • Knowledge of the social, psychological, and physical developmental stages of students
  • 2 years of experience (graduate placements/internships may count toward this prerequisite)
  • Master’s degree required in counseling, psychology, social work, or related clinical field with current, or eligible to obtain within 6 months, Vermont licensure.

Responsibilities

  • Provides psychological counseling and crisis intervention for students
  • Implements appropriate assessments and clinical interventions
  • Facilitates group workshops, therapy, and series as assigned to contribute to meet outreach goals
  • Builds relationships with campus community to reduce stigma and increase help/service seeking
  • Completes timely documentation in the EHR according to best practices and Counseling policies
  • Facilitates skills and process trainings for students and employees as assigned
  • Consults with Director, Counseling staff, and other Center for Health and Wellness colleagues around risk management, referrals, confidentiality, and crisis management support
  • Participates in Counselor on-call rotation
