The Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties Inc. is looking to fill several positions within the Residential Division. These positions include: Residential Counselor for Columbia Street Apartments (900 Columbia St., Hudson, NY 12534), Two Part Time Positions at $20.00 per hour/ 20 hours per week. Hours are Saturday 4pm-8pm and Sunday 8am-12am and Friday 12am-8am and Saturday 8:00pm-8:00am. Residential Counselor for Hudson Community Apartments (8 Green Acres Rd. Hudson, NY 12534), One Full Time Positions at $20.00 per hour/ 40 hours per week, Monday and Wednesday 8:00am-4pm/Friday 12:00pm-8:00pm/Saturday-Sunday 8:00am-4:00pm. Residential Counselor for High Cliff Terrace (30 High Cliff Terrace, Catskill, NY 12414) One Full Time position at $20.00 per hour/40 hours per week, evenings and weekends. Schedule to be determined. One Full Time position at $20.00 per hour/40 hours per week, overnights. Philmont Hearth (45 Maple Lane, Philmont, NY- Per Diem Positions at $20.00 per hour and One Full Time postion at $20.00 per hour- Sunday-Monday 12:00am-8:00am/Wednesday-Friday 4:00pm-12:00am. Not sure about starting a full-time job? Consider starting on a per-diem basis. If you find the role to be engaging, you can transition to full time or part time. These positions are located at the sites listed above, and various schedules are available. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about mental health and human services while increasing hands on experience. $20.00/hour. SPSRO Program (8 Green Acres Rd. Hudson, NY 12534- Two FT positions at $20.25 per hour- Tuesday-Saturday 9:00am-5:00pm and Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. The purpose of the Community Residence and the Single-Site Apartment Programs is to enhance options of participants for choosing, accessing, and maintaining preferred permanent housing, and to provide the support needed to maximize the recipient's successful integration into independent community living. The program relies on the participants to play an active role in both identifying their housing needs, and in actively pursuing the skills needed to succeed in this housing choice. The provision of the listed support services will allow participants to not only obtain permanent housing, but to remain in it by gaining skills needed to succeed in independent living. As requirements for each program is related to the level of need and assistance that participants require, staff will learn program regulations and provide services accordingly. The goal of both programs is to assist individuals in reaching the highest level of independence in the community that is possible for each person.

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have proficiency and adaptability with computer software and web-based systems with the aptitude to learn additional systems quickly and efficiently.
Ability to work with a diverse population of urban, suburban and rural cultures and with community members from varying socioeconomic backgrounds.
Demonstrate a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
Must be able to work regularly outside the office and in the field to engage with clients.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have a valid NYS driver’s license with a MVR eligible for agency insurance coverage and reliable transportation.
Regular and steady attendance is a requirement for all positions.

Responsibilities

Provide the support needed to maximize the successful integration of participants into independent community living.
Provide support, guidance, and hands on assistance in learning and relearning skills of independent daily living.
Providing contact and instruction to promote wellness and recovery.
Offer structure, coordination of services and act as liaisons to other agencies.
Provides supportive, goal-oriented counseling when needed, with a focus on decision making and problem-solving skills.
Assist with case management duties including but not limited to securing and maintaining housing, applying and obtaining services (i.e. food stamps, social security, etc.), etc.
Help and coordinate transportation.
Help plan and encourage recreational activities.
All other duties deemed necessary.
