About The Position

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a full-time Counselor for their Chambersburg outpatient program. This role is crucial in providing individual, group, and family therapy, supporting daily clinical operations, intake processes, and documentation. The program offers a supportive, therapeutic environment for clients to build strength, develop skills, and reclaim overall health and well-being. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health field OR Bachelor’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related behavioral health field OR Current CADC or CAADC certification
  • Ability to manage crises calmly and appropriately
  • Ability to problem-solving and use critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and reliable in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates selected for hire must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and any required state-mandated clearances.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Preferred
  • Experience with clinical skills in mental health, substance use, or co-occurring disorder treatment
  • Experience with professional, ethical approaches to client care and teamwork
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, state licensing regulations, and CARF standards

Responsibilities

  • Support daily clinical operations, including assessments, utilization review, and therapeutic services.
  • Provide individual counseling, group therapy, and family therapy to clients engaged in outpatient treatment.
  • Conduct client intake assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
  • Complete insurance and utilization reviews as needed.
  • Attend shift-change meetings, supervision, and required company meetings.
  • Maintain a caseload and ensure all client documentation is accurate and timely.
  • Assist the Program Director with program coverage and service needs.
  • Perform clerical duties related to maintaining compliant and organized client files.
  • Actively listen to clients and support them in all aspects of their treatment.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when appropriate.
  • Complete all required trainings and maintain mandatory continuing education hours.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
