COUNSELOR-Substance Use Disorder Unit
About The Position
Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., has been a beacon of hope and healing for over 35 years, serving those struggling with behavioral health and substance use issues. Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as, an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. Our mission is to provide high-quality behavioral health services in an environment that values service excellence, respect, and ethical standards, integrity, compassion, and teamwork. We are currently hiring a full-time Counselor to work in our Substance Use Disorder Unit. This is a Monday - Friday day position with evening and/or weekend hours as necessary.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Chemical Dependency, Psychology or other related field
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Chemical Dependency, Psychology or other related field and one year of clinical experience
- Associates Degree from an accredited college with a major in Counseling, Social Work, Chemical Dependency, Psychology or other related field and two years of clinical experience
- Licensed RN with 1 year of counseling experience in a health/human services field
- Certified additions counselor
Responsibilities
- Developing and carrying out treatment and direct patient care for adults within the substance abuse detox and rehabilitation program for the recovery of chemical dependency, substance abuse or addictions.
- Interviewing chemically dependent patients.
- Completing assessments and social histories.
- Conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
- Conducting orientation for new admissions.
- Developing and implementing individual treatment plans.
