About The Position

Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a part-time Counselor to join their outpatient clinical team in Allentown, PA. The Counselor will be responsible for delivering individual, group, and family therapy, supporting daily clinical operations, intake processes, and documentation. The role requires active listening, maintaining a safe environment, and completing required trainings. Pyramid Healthcare is dedicated to providing high-quality behavioral healthcare services, including addiction treatment and mental health recovery, in supportive environments.

Requirements

Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services field), or another related behavioral health field.
OR Bachelor's Degree in one of the disciplines listed above plus one (1) year of clinical experience.
OR Associate's Degree in one of the disciplines listed above plus two (2) years of clinical experience.
OR Full certification as an addictions counselor by a statewide certification body that is a member of a national certification body, or certification by another state's substance abuse counseling certification board.
OR Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a degree from an accredited school of nursing and one (1) year of counseling experience.
OR Current licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Physician.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and any required state‑mandated clearances.

Responsibilities

Support daily clinical operations, including assessments, utilization review, and therapeutic services.
Provide individual counseling, group therapy, and family therapy to clients engaged in outpatient treatment.
Conduct client intake assessments and assist in developing individualized treatment plans.
Complete insurance and utilization reviews as needed.
Attend shift‑change meetings, supervision, and required company meetings.
Maintain a caseload and ensure all client documentation is accurate and timely.
Assist the Program Director with program coverage and service needs.
Perform clerical duties related to maintaining compliant and organized client files.
Actively listen to clients and support them in all aspects of their treatment.
Maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when appropriate.
Complete all required trainings and maintain mandatory continuing education hours.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
