About The Position

Lakeside Educational Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our In-School Counselor Program. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students' mental and emotional well-being at School Lane Charter School in Bensalem, PA, helping them to identify and manage issues that may be impacting their educational experience. This is a 2 day/week position.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.
• Holds or is pursuing a license as a mental health care professional, i.e. LSW, LCSW, LPC or LMFT.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
• Knowledge of mental health issues and community resources.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in counseling or working with youth in an educational setting is preferred.
• Experience working within a school setting desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling to students to address mental and emotional challenges.
• Knowledge and implementation of IEPs.
• Actively listen to students and ask insightful questions to help them understand their problems.
• Develop and implement strategies to assist students in improving their overall well-being and academic performance.
• Collaborate with school district staff to monitor student progress and facilitate transitions out of counseling services.
• Work with families to provide support and resources as needed.
• Connect students and families with community resources to enhance support systems.
