About The Position

The Counselor is responsible for providing psychoeducation and evidence-based treatment to offenders (pretrial and sentenced men and women) according to the approved curriculum and completing all required documentation in the case record (OMS). This role involves facilitating 2-3 groups daily, based on current scheduling, and requires the ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities to complete duties in the allotted time. The Counselor must arrive for work on time, adhere to attendance policies, and work cooperatively with SCSD personnel to ensure smooth operation and coordination of the program.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human services, criminal justice education or closely related field required
Staff must be able to pass extensive background check and pass drug screening

Nice To Haves

CADC, LADC II or other comparable certification/license or equivalent experience with substance use treatment groups/services preferred.
Experience working with justice involved individuals and/or in a correctional setting preferred.
Knowledge of SUD/MAT population and experience working with justice involved individuals in a correctional setting
