This position is responsible for providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for implementing the Missouri Comprehensive School Counseling Program; providing information and recommendations to parents and students in the areas of Academic Development, Career Development and Social/Emotional Development. The counselor will work with parents, students, teachers, and administrators to support mental health needs within the elementary building, teach classroom lessons, and implement comprehensive school counseling curriculum. They will provide individual and group counseling sessions, monitor student progress, and collaborate with building and district teams for student interventions. Additionally, the role involves providing information on community resources, coordinating with various agencies, and informing staff about available counseling resources. The position also requires preparing documentation and performing other related duties as assigned.
