About The Position

Join ReDiscover’s Women & Children Department and be part of a mission-driven organization that’s been transforming lives for over 50 years. As a non-profit community mental health center serving southeastern Jackson County, Missouri, we’re passionate about helping individuals impacted by mental illness or substance use find hope, support, and healing. The Women & Children program is a voluntary, collaborative program that strives to empower women to build resources and personal skills to break the barriers that come with addiction as individuals, family members, and members of their local community. This program offers residential treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, day care services for children under 12, individual and group therapy, case management, peer support services, psychiatry and medicated assisted treatment.

Requirements

  • Availability to work a full-time schedule (40-hours per week) Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm.
  • All new hires are required to attend a one-week ReDiscover orientation as part of the onboarding process.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A valid Missouri Class E automobile operator’s license (or equivalent license in another state).
  • Must carry all appropriate insurance on the vehicle being driven, necessary to comply with Missouri or Kansas State Law.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as the use of email.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors clients in a safe environment, performing and documenting client safety rounds.
  • Performs ADL monitoring and coaching (i.e. life skills, communication skills, community integration, etc.).
  • Facilitates structured activities with clients in accordance with their goals and treatment plan.
  • Demonstrates culturally competent respect for all clients, guests and staff through verbal and non-verbal behaviors and assists them as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the program space.
  • Safeguards Protected Health Information (written and electronically) and maintains confidentiality.
  • Provides written documentation, scanning and/or uploading records into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • Requests and/or releases client information or medical records.
