About The Position

Join ReDiscover’s CoEd Department and be part of a mission-driven organization that’s been transforming lives for over 50 years. As a non-profit community mental health center serving southeastern Jackson County, Missouri, we’re passionate about helping individuals impacted by mental illness or substance use find hope, support, and healing. The Coed Substance Use Disorder program aims to help adults with a substance use or co-occurring disorder in an outpatient or residential setting. Through medication assisted treatment, paired with individualized therapy, group education, and case management, the Coed Substance Use Disorder program offers a well rounded holistic approach to client's needs.

Requirements

  • Availability to work a Full Time schedule (40 hours per week) Mon-Fri 7A-3P; all new hires are required to attend a one-week ReDiscover orientation as part of the onboarding process.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • A valid Missouri Class E automobile operator’s license (or equivalent license in another state).
  • Must carry all appropriate insurance on the vehicle being driven, necessary to comply with Missouri or Kansas State Law.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as the use of email.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of mental illness and substance use disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors clients in a safe environment, performing and documenting client safety rounds.
  • Facilitates structured activities with clients in accordance with their goals and treatment plan.
  • Demonstrates culturally competent respect for all clients, guests and staff through verbal and non-verbal behaviors and assists them as needed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the program space.
  • Safeguards Protected Health Information (written and electronically) and maintains confidentiality.
  • This may include providing written documentation, scanning and/or uploading records into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
  • This may also include requesting and/or releasing client information or medical records.
