About The Position

The School-Based Counselor provides behavioral health counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, care coordination, and supportive services to children, adolescents, and families within partnered school districts and community settings. This position supports Valle del Sol’s mission by delivering culturally responsive, trauma-informed behavioral health services that promote emotional wellness, student success, and access to care. The School-Based Counselor collaborates closely with school personnel, caregivers, interdisciplinary treatment teams, and community partners to support continuity of care and positive behavioral health outcomes for students and families. This position follows a 10-month academic-year schedule aligned with partner school calendars.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
  • Experience providing behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and families.
  • Active Arizona behavioral health license or associate license including: LMSW / LCSW, LAC / LPC, LAMFT / LMFT
  • Must meet the licensure, certification, or credentialing requirements applicable to the position in accordance with Arizona law and applicable regulatory authorities.
  • Must practice within the scope of the applicable credential(s) consistent with organizational policies and the needs of the populations served.
  • BLS certification, or ability to obtain within 5 days of start date.
  • Arizona Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card, or ability to obtain within 5 days of start date.
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to pass pre- and continued employment screenings successfully.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Nice To Haves
