The Intensive Recovery Group (IRG) team provides intensive, holistic and recovery oriented behavioral health services to persons living with serious and persistent mental illness who desire to live independently and engage fully in community life. Staff members provide and coordinate groups from a range of topics including psychoeducation and independent living skills to promote independence by building natural community support and skill development. The milieu for group and adjunct individual care is based out of the outpatient center.

Requirements

  • Preferred Masters from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience is preferred.
  • Ability to meet requirements of Illinois QMHP provision level.
  • Will consider individuals working towards QMHP certification who has completed comparable field work, and is projected to meet standards within agreed upon start from hire, if applicable
  • Experience working with individuals recovering from mental illness serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance use providing a variety of interventions including case management or group skills training
  • Basic computer and smartphone proficiency, word processing, smartphone applications, and Internet skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling support services to all IRG clients based on identified frequency in plan of care and as directed by evidenced based practice
  • Serve clients showing mastery of therapy and case management tools, with comfort in group, individual, advocacy, and consultation settings
  • Assist clients in developing Plans of Care (integrated assessments and treatment plans) and monitoring progress with these in the IM-CANS format
  • Lead assigned weekly group services focused on a variety of topics including: independent living skills, psychoeducation, and social skill development.
  • Facilitate referrals for additional services consistent with assessed needs and consumer’s desired outcomes.
  • Routinely consult with other Recovery Team members including employment, substance use, community support team, and psychiatry to address specific client related clinical issues and coordinate care strategies
  • Promote opportunities for clients to build natural systems of support within their communities through exposure to recreational, spiritual, educational, vocational, volunteer and civic activities
  • Work cooperatively with other Center units/staff to maintain smooth transitions and effective continuity of care when cases are shared
  • Work with clients individually to supplement group participation when needed and guide or participate in interdisciplinary team care, depending on whether acting as a primary or adjunctive staff members
  • Work with IRG team members to assess, plan, and participate in provision of services
  • Meet productivity target estimated at approximately 65% to 70% billable service out of total hours worked
  • Participate in minimum weekly supervision and as directed and seek additional clinical and program consultation as needed
  • Participate in All Staff meetings, IRG team Meetings, other team and clinical staff meetings and trainings as directed by supervisor
  • Interpret and communicate, at the service delivery level, Center policies and procedures
  • Complete all clinical documentation and required reports in an accurate and timely manner according to KYC policy
  • Meet agency quality and compliance standards
