About The Position

This role involves ensuring residents receive quality care in health, safety, clothing, hygiene, and meals. The Counselor establishes daily routines, supervises activities, and upholds the behavior management system. They also attend to residents' educational, vocational, health, and mental health needs, modeling positive behavior and contributing to a safe and caring environment. Fieldwork and other assigned tasks are also part of the role.

Requirements

• High School diploma is required.
• Three years’ experience working with adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that residents are provided with quality care in matters of health, safety, clothing, hygiene, and meals
• Establishes ADL routines including house jobs, room chores, wake-ups, and lights-out, laundry, cooking, etc.
• Supervises individual and group activities such as trips, sporting events, crafts, etc.
• Upholds all elements of behavior management system, including restriction system, negotiations, and a repertoire of confrontation techniques and responses.
• Attends to the educational/ vocational, health and mental health, etc.
• Models positive behavior at all times while confronting negative behavior
• Commits to the mission of the program by supporting the creation of a safe, orderly, and caring environment
• Complete field work as needed
• Any other assigned tasks
