About The Position

Alpharus Health is hiring a Counselor III for its Atascocita residential correctional center in Humble, Texas. The facility provides substance use treatment to court-ordered clients in a structured, secure environment. The Counselor III provides clinical services, develops treatment and discharge plans for clients with complex needs, serves as a resource to colleagues, and may support staff training and clinical supervision. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The salary range is $60,000–$65,000, based on experience and credentials. Starting rates depend on years of experience, qualifications, and relevant skills; annual performance reviews may result in merit-increase eligibility based on employee and organizational performance.

Requirements

Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
Current professional license in Texas as an LCSW, LPC, LPCA, or LMSW.
Ability to obtain security clearance as required by Harris County.

Nice To Haves

At least four years of clinical experience is desired.
Concurrent experience treating substance abuse and dual diagnoses is highly preferred.
Previous work experience in a corrections environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Complete comprehensive assessments and treatment planning, and provide counseling services to clients.
Develop and implement complex treatment and discharge plans for clients with dual diagnoses, social issues, or mental health issues.
Serve as a professional resource to others in resolving complex case problems and provide clinical supervision as needed.
Develop and potentially facilitate trainings for treatment staff.
Oversee counselors in the absence of the supervisor.
