About The Position

This position involves providing clinical services to a diverse population including outpatient adults, children, and adolescents who may have alcohol and drug treatment issues or co-morbid health problems. The role requires intervention, assessment, treatment planning, triage, and various forms of therapy. Clinicians are responsible for timely and accurate documentation to meet contract, licensure, and organizational requirements. Productivity standards must be met based on hours worked. Clinical services encompass individual therapy, intakes, assessments (DLA 20, Columbia Suicide Assessment, PHQ9), discharge planning, treatment planning, referrals, and consumer staffing. The treatment population includes adults, children, youth, and their family systems. Collaboration and consultation with other service providers and referral sources such as courts, schools, foster homes, relatives, case managers, and state agencies are also a key part of the role.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in the Behavioral Sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the community setting with adults who have alcohol and drug treatment issues or co-morbid mental health problems.
  • Counseling experience with adults.
  • Understanding of psychotropic medications or related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical services to outpatient adults, children, and adolescents with alcohol and drug treatment issues or co-morbid health problems.
  • Conduct intervention, assessment/intake, treatment planning, triage, individual therapy, group therapy, and/or play therapy.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner per VBHCS standards for contract, licensure, and behavioral health organization requirements.
  • Meet productivity standards as outlined by VBHCS based on hours worked per month.
  • Perform clinical services including individual therapy, intakes, assessments (DLA 20, Columbia Suicide Assessment, PHQ9), discharge planning, treatment planning, appropriate referral to internal/external services and support systems, and staffing of consumers.
  • Provide services to adults, children, youth, and their family systems.
  • Liaise and/or consult with other service providers and referral sources (e.g., court, schools, foster homes, relatives, case managers, state agencies) to achieve treatment goals.
