About The Position

Lakeview Center provides comprehensive behavioral health care to adults and children with mental illnesses, drug and alcohol dependencies and intellectual disabilities. Across Northwest Florida, our services range from residential treatment to outpatient counseling, psychiatry, trauma care, treatments for substance misuse and 24/7 support for those with serious mental illnesses. The Lakeview Center Opiate Treatment Program is centered on helping people learn the skills to overcome addiction to opium-derived drugs. Cravings are perhaps the biggest hurdle, but Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) can be the key to recovery. MAT is an evidence-based practice composed of pharmacological interventions, counseling and support. The Counselor I - MAT Century will provide therapeutic services to clients within scope of training, protocols, and competence, and within requirements of statutes applicable to the position. Therapeutic services include but are not limited to, assessment, treatment planning, direct service provision, person centered services and management of client risk and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related human services field (a related human services field is one in which major course work includes the study of human behavior and development).
  • At least two (2) years’ experience working with adolescents and/or adults who have mental health, substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders or developmental disabilities.
  • OR completion of an internship at Lakeview Center, Inc. through an accredited counseling/social work program can be substituted for the two years of post-graduate experience.
  • Must be able to provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.
  • Must be able to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings as appropriate.
