Under the direct supervision of the Program Director/Supervisor, the Counselor I provides treatment and recovery services to participating clients, monitors, documents, and supports client treatment progress, maintains ethical and evidence-based care, and participates in treatment team activities. The Counselor II and III roles build upon these responsibilities with increasing levels of professional judgment, coaching abilities, and potentially advanced knowledge in specific areas. This role involves conducting comprehensive substance use screenings, developing individualized care plans, providing evidence-based services, supporting clients with relapse prevention and life skills, and coordinating with various community resources. The position requires meticulous record-keeping, monitoring client progress, and responding to crises. Counselors may also be involved in client transportation, safety programming, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Continuous learning, participation in clinical meetings, and maintaining professional boundaries are essential aspects of the role.
