About The Position

This role provides individual and group therapy to individuals with substance use disorders, using strong clinical skills to assess needs, support engagement, and promote recovery. The Counselor will manage a caseload, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards while delivering compassionate, client-centered care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, psychology, addictions studies, social work or related field with specialty or concentration in counseling
  • At least one year experience in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting.
  • Actively working towards a credential through PCB (i.e., CAAC, CADC, CAADC, CCS), or be actively working toward licensure or certification.
  • Licensure or certification will need to be achieved within two to three (2 - 3) years of hire, depending on requirements

Responsibilities

  • Conduct effective individual and group therapy using strong clinical judgment
  • Assess client needs and stage of change to recommend appropriate services
  • Engage resistant individuals using rapport, empathy, and evidence-based techniques
  • Manage caseload, track progress, and re-engage individuals as needed
  • Coordinate care and connect clients to community resources
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with all regulatory standards
  • Ensure charts, incident reports, and records are complete and up to date
  • Adhere to all policies, confidentiality, and ethical guidelines
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
  • Meet productivity expectations
  • Participate in supervision, training, and quality improvement activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
