About The Position

The Counselor is responsible for providing individual, group therapy, family therapy, psychosocial assessment and discharge planning for the patients in the Outpatient/Inpatient Mental Health Department. In addition, the Counselor administers psychological testing, prepares reports for the Medical Record and provides counseling services the Employee Assistance Program.

Requirements

• Masters Degree in Psychology, Clinical Counseling or Social Work
• Two (2) years experience in Mental Health counseling preferred and Board Certified or Board Certified eligible.
• Must be physically able to perform all job duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Psychosocial history assessment
• Conducts psycho-education group
• Conducts individual therapy
• Participates in discharge planning
• Conducts family therapy
• Facilitates Group Psychotherapy
• On Outpatient basis, will formulate a diagnosis and initiate treatment appropriate to that diagnosis.
